Louisiana Water Company History

Louisiana Water Company (LAWCO) is a privately owned water utility which produces and distributes safe, clean drinking water throughout communities across Louisiana. We were established in 1983 when we acquired the water utility assets and water service operations of Central Louisiana Electric Company (CLECO) in the communities of Crowley, DeQuincy, Eunice, Lecompte, Loreauville, Mansura and New Iberia. The company has continued to grow and now serves over 34,000 customers in Acadia, Avoyelles, Calcasieu, Iberia, Rapides and St. Landry Parishes including the communities of Avery Island and Lydia.
