In addition to water charges, in several of our service areas we provide Third Party Billing and Collection service for municipal sewer, garbage, fire protection and DHH Bond fees. This allows customers to pay those fees with one payment. Questions about third party billing should be directed to those agencies. We bill and collect for the following third parties:
Online Payments – www.louisianawater.com. There is a $2.95 convenience charge for this method of payment.
Easy Pay Automatic Bank Drafts – We can automatically draft your checking account the day before your due date each month. No stamps, no worry and convenient.
Mailing Payment – Just use your return envelope provided with your statement.
Western Union Payment Locations – Western Union payment agents that provide “Quick Collect” service are located in several of our service areas near you. For a list of Western Union payment agents, please click on the Payment Options tab and review the Western Union Payment Locations information.
24-Hours by Phone – You can make your payments with your credit card (with a $2.95 convenience fee) over the telephone. Just call your local customer service office and follow the easy instructions given by our automated system.
In Person – You can pay your bill in person at our customer service offices and/or payment drop boxes located in your service area:
Drive-Up Window – Our DeQuincy and New Iberia customer service offices feature a drive-up window that allows you to make payments without leaving your car. To insure your account is credited properly, please include your billing stub with all payments. (For faster service, please have your billing stub available)
As per federal and state regulations, utility companies are not allowed to release information on a customer’s account to any third party without written authorization from the customer or a court order requesting the information. Customers that would like another person or party to have access to their water service account information and access for full account services must complete an Authorization for Release of Information to Third Party form and remit to your local customer service office. For an Authorization for Release of Information to Third Party form click here.
All current billings are due 20 days after billing dates. If a current bill is unpaid after 20 days, the account will be assessed with a 5% delinquent penalty. All bills unpaid 30 days after the billing date will be subject to disconnection of water service. A notice of nonpayment will be mailed to the last known address and will include amounts due and disconnect date. If service is disconnected for nonpayment, total amount due on the account, a reconnection charge and possibly an additional deposit must be paid at a LAWCO customer service office before water service will be restored.
